HALLO AMERIKA! and other countries n stuff.
I have made it to Germany in one piece. Phew. We can all relax now. I sat on the very last row in the very middle seat for a very long plane ride. Needless to say, I was very happy to land in Berlin. I looked like I had gone through a wind tunnel then fallen into a mud puddle and rolled in lint. Ehh, ok that may be an exaggeration a wee bit. That night we slept for 13 hours. Unheard of for missionaries. I enjoyed ever sleeping second. The next day, Thursday, we met our new trainers. I was assigned to go to Dresden with Sister Degraw! Go google Dresden right now. It is lovely! After email time I get to go take a tour of the Frauen Kirche. Go google that. It is even lovelier! So needless to say, I was stoked to go to Dresden! But wait, it gets better. Sister Rasmussen also got assigned to Dresden! So we live in the same apartment for at least another 6 weeks! Ahh! I am so pumped! The Lord has blessed me so much and Ive only been out for what, 3 weeks?
There is one bad thing about Dresden, but it may just be Germany in general. And that is…
I. Will. Get. Fat.
I. Will. Get. Fat.
The food is incredible! Fresh breads, cheese, meat, chocolate, fruits, chocolate, bakeries, oh and did I mention CHOCOLATE? Somebody help me. Haha. No I think I will be fine. For morning sport we get to run in the beauitiful garden called Grosser Garten. It is stunning! We also go finding there because you can really feel the spirit there.
We spend a lot of our time finding. The investigators we have all prefer to speak English because they are also learning German. Dresden has a university so most of our investigators are students. I think we teach more asians than Elder Mecham in Japan! I love it, but I want to find a German investigator so I can practice my German. Sis Ras and I talk to all the Germans we can on the train and ask them lots of language questions. We are determined to learn Hoch Deutsch despite being in a saxony area. Dad, don’t worry I will learn Hoch Deutsch! haha.
My district is super rad. Our theme song is the Cat Daddy because WE GO TO WORK. #dresdendistrict
Appartently we have a sister missionary stalker here in dresden. He just came into the internet lounge and our trainers broke into a hot sweat. Oh goodie, he left.
Before I came here people would tell me that I looked German but I just thought they were crazy. Now that I am here I see what they mean. I have a German face shape…big features like full lips and bold eyebrows. I fit in here with my looks and my humor! Now I know where I get my sarcasm. I also know where I get my friendlyness.. and that is because I am half American. Haha, these Germans like to stay reserved. I get the best of both worlds!
I have a busy week planned! We are going to Leipzig for a Zone Conference on Thursday. I hear they have amazing donuts. I. Will. Get. Fat.
I love hearing from everyone! I have a new address to recieve letters.
